is our Charlotte, the mother Elizabeth who signed the bond was a widow.

parents, of Chatham, as deceased; Assisted Immigrants Inward to Sydney, [New
South Wales, Australia], Immigrant Ship Margaret, 28 Mar 1841, FHL film 0355379.
3. Note that a Richard Rose was buried at Chatham 25 Oct 1812, twelve days
after a Samuel. The Chatham Land Tax Rolls show a Richard Rose being
replaced by a Samuel Rose in 1799, which corresponds to Elizabeth Crittenden
Rose's burial. Parhaps Samuel moved in to take care of him, and the shock of
Samuel's death contributed to Richard's. The Roses disappear from the
Chatham Land Tax Rolls altogether in 1813. I'm basing this Samuel's burial on
this. FHL film 1469812-3.
