2 CONT after a Samuel.  The Chatham Land Tax Rolls show a Richard Rose being
2 CONT replaced by a Samuel Rose in 1799, which corresponds to Elizabeth Crittenden
2 CONT Rose's burial.  Parhaps Samuel moved in to take care of him, and the shock of
2 CONT Samuel's death contributed to Richard's.  The Roses disappear from the
2 CONT Chatham Land Tax Rolls altogether in 1813.  I'm basing this Samuel's burial on

2 CONT before a Richard.  The Chatham Land Tax Rolls show a Richard Rose being
2 CONT replaced by a Samuel Rose in 1799, which corresponds to this Richard's wife's
2 CONT burial.  Parhaps Samuel moved in to take care of him, and the shock of Samuel's
2 CONT death contributed to his own.  Of course it could also be a different Richard,
2 CONT possibly even Samuel's son, though that Richard matches an 1824 marriage.  Note
