The Samuel Rose Parkinson Family Organization can use your help. This web page is an experiment to see if we can organize family members through the Internet.

Since our last reunion in the 1980s, the family has sponsored a concerted effort to verify our existing genealogy and push it back if possible. The results have been published on the Pedigree Resource File and this web page. The family is also participating in the publication of a new biography by Preston Woolley Parkinson, a grandson, including an extensive ancestry and descendancy.

We've noticed lots of cousins making efforts at family history. We can go farther if we coordinate.

How to Help

If you would like to cooperate with other family members in family history projects, please write Benson Parkinson (see below). I'll act as coordinator, and we'll see if we can't get a few things going.

You might be interested in helping with one or more of the following:

• Genealogy. A lot of new good resources are available. But this is an area where a lot of family members are duplicating efforts and even working at cross purposes. Let's get together!

• Parkinson Family Photo Project. We'd like to scan and make available all extant photos of Samuel Rose Parkinson, his wifes, their children, and their spouses. See the photo page for a few details.

• Histories. We'd also like to make available more written histories on Samuel and his family. If you have written or own histories of Samuel, his wives, children, or their spouses, we would like to help preserve and distribute them. We could also use help transcribing Samuel's journals and other documents.

• Reunion. We haven't met for several years. Let's explore the idea.

• Internet. As should be obvious, we have a severe need of someone with a little design sense and coding skill to help with this web page.
